Small mountain village with the famous spring water fountain Fuente de los "Cinco Caños". Beautiful church: Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Some nice bars. There is an ATM and an information center. More likely you may encounter our Belgian mayor, Mario Blancke. The village is located along the natural park "Sierra Tejeda" It's the perfect place for hiking and mountain biking, with the impressive mountain "Maroma" background. This culminates at 2060 meters above sea level. Nice view from "Utopia" on the "Maroma". On Saturday there is a mini market.
Taste delicious tapas at Meson Sara and many other Spanish bars. Or do you prefer the Indian cuisine? Or Chinese? Or British?
The turquoise Lake Viñuela, around which you can walk on foot or by bike and picnic. Non-motorized sports such as windsurfing, sailing and swimming, are permitted.
Typical Spanish coastal town known for its walk of no less than 4km along the sea, its chiringuito bars offering grilled sardines in small boats, its "loungebars" etc. On Thursday there is a nice market. (25 minutes from us).
Just to shopaholics to drive 15 minutes to reach "El Ingenio", a large shopping center. Velez-Malaga also has a Moorish castle of the 13th century. The parades here are very picturesque during the "Semana Santa".
6 – Frigiliana and Nerja : You can combine both in one day trip. – Frigiliana : small white village very nice, "Pueblo Blanco", with its narrow streets, where the commercial was shot Bertolli. Yes, you read that right: the clip with grandmothers and olive oil was not shot in Italy, but here in Frigiliana. – Nerja : beautiful bays, cliffs and coves. "Balcon de Europa" beautiful view over a cliff into the sea.

Visit the "Alhambra" palace prestigious Moorish style building. Please preferably book your tour in advance to avoid long queues : www.alhambradegrenada.org. Then you can also visit the Albaicin, the Arabic neighborhood with winding streets, located 1h30 from our Casa Rural.
Visit the Mezquita, known worldwide, and the old Moorish quarter, the beautiful patios and beautiful garden: Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. (2 hours from home). This old town is located just an hour from home. In the suburbs there are three dolmen (dated to 4000-5000 BCE). There is also the "Arab Castillo" which dominates the city from atop a hill, and beautiful churches of renaissance and baroque style. In a protected nature reserve, with its amazing rock formations, you can make beautiful walks 1.5 km or 2.5 km or even 4.5 km. (Also 1 hour drive from Utopia).
12 – Caminito del Rey : Nice walk in the El Chorro Gorge. "
2 hours from "Utopia" you will find the splendid "Ronda". The impressive bridge "El Tajo" connects the medieval quarter of "La Ciudad" to "El Mercadillo", famous for its arena "Plaza de Torros", one of the oldest bullrings in Spain.
14 – Marbella and Puerto Banus : Glitz and glamor, chic boutiques, sports cars, floating castles.
2h.30m from Utopia. The capital of Andalusia is perfect for a full day visit. You leave Utopia around 8 am and at 10:30 you can immerse yourself in the history of the Moors. What you can not miss the Giralda (World Heritage), the Cathedral, Barrio de Santa Cruz, patios, Reales Alcazeres etc.
16 – Five car tours : The Moor road, the road of the sun and avocado, sun and wine route, the route of the oil and the mountains, the road of grapes. (A map is available for free).

18 – Sierra Nevada : Located at 1:30 of Utopia. – Ski : see www.sierranevada.es ! 83 km of ski runs, 23 lifts (winter).. – Cycling : see www.sierranevadabikepark.com ! 7 bike tours terrain. The bikes can be rented on the slopes (July-August).
Drive through Puente Don Manuel to Zafarraya (gorges where Neanderthal remains were found). The route follows a charming winding road before arriving at the spa. The other attraction is the Grand Canyon of Alhama, with its steep sandstone rocks.

Visit the Moorish Alcazaba, the best shopping streets, tapas bars. Go through "El pimpi" authentic bodega. Or stroll along the beautiful new port where the evening exudes a worldly and trendy atmosphere. Try the wine of Malaga. Art lovers can visit the Pompidou Centre or the Museo de Picasso.
